A Saturday in March

March in North Carolina is truly a gift. It seems like one minute it's the dead of winter and then the next March hits and we're graced with perfect warm, clear days. We had several of these days this past weekend and on Saturday, Will and I could hardly wait to get to the water.

We ended up going to my great Aunt Sally's lake house on Lake Norman to spend the day. We took subs from Harris Teeter, Diet Coke from the QT in our Yeti's, towels, fishing gear, and our yellow puppy and hit the road.

Having Will's truck packed, the windows down, our favorite songs blaring, heading to any form of water, albeit ocean, lake, pool, or river, is one my favorite feelings in the world.

We had such a great day at the lake. Dixie about died when she realized that not only was she going to get to swim but that there was another dog for her to play with too. Will got to fish and caught a nice bass on his third cast. And I was in heaven soaking in the sun, watching my favorite person work his poles and his lures, and throwing a toy for my yellow puppy a thousand times over.

    1. It's actually a different one. It's the same Aunt but she sold her old house and bought this one. We had some good times at the other though!
